Bluekings was incorporated in 1998 to develop and market essential oils produced from Australian flora. The company was formed by a group of investors who had experience in the Australian

Initially the company invested in research and production of essential oils produced by steam distillation of various parts of the Callitris genus (commonly known as Australian Cypress). The initial research was carried out on the White Cypress (Callitris columellaris) with oils being produced from the wood, bark and leaves.

Further development with the Callitris genus involved the production of Australian Blue Cypress Oil from wood and bark of Callitris intratropica (Australian Blue Cypress).

Following success in these areas Bluekings expanded its development to include the marketing and research of other Australian essential oils. To further this development, in 2002, Bluekings amalgamated with Essential Oils Research Laboratories to strengthen its research capability.

Bluekings now operates a sophisticated management system that controls the production and quality of essential oils and natural extracts produced by contracted distillers. We utilise the independent analytical facility, Centre for Phytochemistry,

Bluekings markets a range of essential oils and natural extracts that are produced in Australia under our direct supervision or imported, where necessary, after passing our stringent quality assurance controls.
